Choose a Boston Apartment Fast. Or Else.
“Hey! Make a Decision Already!” Not for my benefit, but for yours.
Are you looking for a Boston apartment this summer or in September? Then why wait?
Being a first time renter myself a mere 6 months ago, I was not intimidated by my real estate agent’s threats to “Make a decision! And quick! Hurry, time is running out!” Ok, so you’re a salesman, thought I, you’re going to say whatever you need to get your commission. Right?
Wrong.
After getting into the Real Estate business myself recently, I realized my lazy apartment search I had conducted for myself just this past summer was no joke. Yes, my roommate and I saw places we both liked that ended up getting rented the next day. But when it happened a second, third, and fourth time, we started to finally realize that our Realtors were not yanking our chain, but actually being serious! Because it’s true, apartments in Boston will rent fast, and you don’t want to miss out on the right apartment for you.
Now that I am in the driver’s seat as a Real Rental Agent of Back Bay, helping out lost souls like I once was not long ago, I find myself saying the familiar phrase: “This apartment will go quickly.”
Is this phrase partly because I now am a salesperson? Yes. But our sales “tactic” is no lie.
We are here for you, and we don’t want someone else renting the apartment you love anymore than you do. At the end of the day, we are here to help YOU find the PERFECT place and help your future landlord find a great tenant too. (If you’re a landlord, you may want to take a peek at our 9 Step Guide to Renting Your Apartment in Boston to Great Tenants written by my colleague Matt),
So if you’re out on a showing, even if it is for an apartment you won’t live in until the end of the summer, keep in mind that your friendly neighborhood Charlesgate Realty rep will be there to help you, unselfishly, to find the best fit for you. But let’s keep in mind the rental market is tight, folks! And not just for rentals, but for buying opportunities as well in this crazy thing we call the Boston real estate market.
