Welcome to Roslindale, West Roxbury, and Hyde Park!
Now part of the city of Boston, these neighborhoods were once referred to as “streetcar suburbs” for their main method of transportation. Among the area’s points of interest: Roslindale’s Arnold Arboretum is a 265-acre park that links the neighborhood to nearby Jamaica Plain, continuing the city’s “Emerald Necklace” of green areas; the Roxbury Latin School, founded in 1645 in West Roxbury, is considered by some to be oldest school in continuous existence in North America; and Hyde Park boasts the George Wright Golf Course, designed by the legendary Donald Ross.
