The description for your home is like a resume for a job interview – one of the first things a buyer will read to get an idea of what your property is all about. Taking the time to make sure it reads its best using these 3 tips can make all the difference.

  1. You have limited space

MLS limits the amount of characters that can in a description so it is important to use the space wisely. Don’t repeat yourself or waste words by using adjectives that do not add anything to a buyer’s understanding of the space.

  1. This is not the time to be shy

This is the place to really flaunt the features of the home that are sure to impress! Think about the amenities of the property that prompted you to purchase it in the beginning. Also consider the items that people compliment you on when they visit your home.

  1. Be specific

Use concrete terms, not generalizations, to really paint a picture with your words. Saying something is “pretty” or “nice” does not help buyers understand any more about a specific feature.
