Boston in 24 hours

Boston plays no second to the glitz and glamour of upscale shopping, luxury condo buildings, fancy restaurants and the likes that New York City has to offer. Bostonians will tell you that this walkable city is home to some of the best food and fun in the nation.

Beantown

When you only have 24-hours to spend in a city, sometimes the best start to a day is a good cup of joe, leaving your leisure mealtimes for lunch and dinner.  Ula Café on Armory Street at the Brewery Complex prides itself in an environment built for conversation rather than computers. Happy to cater to the self-employed locals hard-at-work on the web, they also tend to turn off the WiFi during peak hours. Their Café Cubano with cinnamon and brown sugar are a perfect way to start your adventure.

The 3-hour tour

To really make the most of your time, there are many themed walking tours of Boston than can help you navigate your way through the most exciting parts of the city. The Boston Chinatown Markets Tour takes you through a bakery, herbal pharmacy, bubble tea shop, and food market including a dim sum lunch while the Boston Public Library Art and Architecture Tour is filled with priceless knowledge and beauty, with no appointment necessary.

Gourmet Burgers in Boston

JM Curley is part of Boston’s burger-madness. With locally sourced, organic ingredients, this pub-like burger restaurant is a staple of the Financial District. Open for lunch Monday through Friday and at 5p on Saturday and Sunday, it’s best to get there on the early side, or prepare to wait. But locals can tell you, the addictive caramel-popcorn-bacon snack is worth your wait alone.

The Sox

It goes without saying that if you can fit in a Sox game at Fenway Park then you’re in for an unparalleled experience. The oldest ballpark in the Majors is also the smallest, so it’s good to plan ahead and grab your tickets before your trip. And if there aren’t any games during your 24-trip, Fenway also does tours!

Best Ice Cream in the country

Boston has been a hub to the most innovative ice cream since the 1970’s. After having ice cream at J.P. Licks, your ice cream expectations will never be the same. Open from 6a to midnight, its funky atmosphere is equally met with its funky flavors that you won’t be able to find elsewhere.

Eastern Standard

If you’re in Boston, dining at Eastern Standard is a must. A mix between a loud dinner party and French Brasserie, Eastern Standard offers an absolutely buzzing environment with a deceptively simple, yet appealing menu. They are passionate about their food, drinks and guests and will rope you into a night where time does not exist.

Into the night

Jacques Cabaret is an undeniably good time and a must-stop before heading out of town. With doors closing up at midnight, its best to make this your first stop of the night and enjoy the charming, glamorous, wildest drag show in town. Then take a quick taxi ride over to The Good Life Bar. With two floors, three bars, local artwork, live music and DJ’s from across the nation, Good Life is a slice of Boston that both locals and tourists alike rave about.
