Located @ 22 Water Street in Cambridge
Boston has so much construction activity going on, it’s hard to keep count of how many cranes there are on the skyline. Fortunately,
Boston is not the only place benefiting from new construction. Across the Charles River in Cambridge the
North Point neighborhood has continued to grow with the soon-to-be open of
Twenty20, the recently expanded Education First headquarters, and the hotly anticipated
Zinc.
Zinc is a 392-unit luxury apartment community developed by Wood Partners and designed by Symmes Maini & McKee Associates (SMMA). The 15-story
Zinc is rising at the western end of Cambridge’s North Point park and features a fun, colorful facade with alternating blues, blacks, and whites, as well as thoughtfully designed balconies that integrate inconspicuously with the the facade. The apartments will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, stainless steel appliances, washers & dryers, and walk-in closets among other amenities, and will be offered as studios, 1-bedrooms, and 2-bedrooms.

Although
Zinc comes with some garage parking, the development is especially exciting as it is adjacent to what will become the new Lechmere T station following the extension of the MBTA green line into Somerville and Medford. As if this site wasn’t already desirable for employees in East Cambridge and Kendall neighborhoods, the green line’s connectivity will make this a great home address for people commuting to Tufts University or downtown Boston as well.
