How Much Would Your Favorite TV Stars Pay in Rent?
Meredith Kiep was recently featured in the Boston Herald in an article showcasing what famous TV characters would pay in rent in their fictional homes. From the article:
“Apartment envy is real.
As post-moving-day renters settle into their new Boston digs, unpack boxes and rearrange furniture, many may wonder why their rentals don’t measure up to the apartments they see in the TV lineup this fall.
Shows such as “New Girl” and “The Mindy Project” boast gorgeous city spaces with walk-in closets, quirky bathrooms and male roommates who actually like to clean. (Yeah, right.) But don’t let those TV apartments make you feel bad. Boston has some of the highest rents in the country, and for those on a budget, $1,400 might not be enough to get you that dream loft.
Charlesgate Realty agent Meredith Kiep worked with the Herald to calculate what your favorite TV characters might shell out for those gleaming hardwood floors and enviably exposed brick. Kiep calculated prices by talking with local real estate agents and renters and cross-referenced apartments from Trulia, Zillow and Craigslist.
• Max and Caroline’s apartment on “2 Broke Girls”
Diner waitresses Max and Caroline have a pretty nice setup for a couple of squatters. If the Brooklyn girls actually paid rent for their Williamsburg apartment, they would spend about $2,200 a month for the ground-floor one-bedroom. Not bad, considering they have a backyard big enough to fit a horse.”
