A CLOSE LOOK AT DEVELOPMENTS REDEFINING THE CITY’S SKYLINE
BUILDING: 100 Pier 4
Fly aside, seagulls, because there’s a new bird at the seaport: the “crane.” And they’re everywhere! While new developments are popping up in every neighborhood of Boston, this positive transformation has been most apparent in the
Seaport neighborhood (a.k.a. South Boston Waterfront, Fort Point Channel District, Innovation District, or whatever latest name city leaders decide to label it). While new towers
Waterside Place and
315 on A made a splash on the Seaport’s luxury rental market this spring, the latest tower at
100 Pier 4 is poised to further energize the neighborhood.
One Hundred Pier 4 is a 21-story apartment tower under construction in the Seaport at the intersection of Northern Avenue and Seaport Blvd. It is the first of three buildings to be constructed at Pier 4, the longtime home of Anthony’s Pier 4 restaurant. This 380-unit address is unique among the latest apartment towers hitting the market as it not only features a rooftop swimming pool, but also directly abuts the water. With its convenient access to I-90, I-93, the “Courthouse” and “World Trade Center” T stations, and only a 5-minute walk to the Financial District,
100 Pier 4 is one of the most well-connected residences coming on the market. Amenities will include below-ground garage parking, 24-hour concierge, ground floor retail, sundeck with swimming pool, business center, residents’ lounge, mini-theater, fitness center, and a brand new marina slip featuring water taxi service.
Later phases of the
Pier 4 redevelopment include a new waterfront hotel, additional residences, and a 1-acre peninsular park at the end of the pier. The entire water’s edge will be open to the public and an extension of the Boston Harborwalk. As if happenings weren’t exciting enough at
100 Pier 4, there are incredible offerings immediately around the site and all within a 2-block radius!
Seaport Square continue to fill in across the street, attracting major office tenants PwC, Goodwin Proctor, MassChallenge, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals (among others).
Seaport Square alone will bring an additional 1.3 million square feet of new retail to the Seaport–that’s nearly three times as much shopping as at the Prudential Center! The flagship restaurants along Seaport Boulevard and at
Legacy Wharf, such as Morton’s, Legal Harborside, and Del Frisco’s, promise to delight the palate of any foodies out there. Cultural centers like the Institute of Contemporary Art next door, or the Boston Children’s Museum a few blocks away, assure the Seaport stays anchored as a must-see destination, and the MCCA’s planned expansion for the
Boston Convention and Expo Center demonstrate renewed efforts to make the Seaport Boston’s premiere neighborhood of the 21st century.
Although leasing is not yet underway at
100 Pier 4, we estimate it will begin before the end of the year. If you are anxious to get in on the action in the Seaport now, talk to a
Charlesgate Leasing Agent to schedule a showing at the recently completed
Waterside Place,
D Street Lofts, and
315 on A.
