“Julie and I worked with Meredith Kiep throughout April to find out new apartment, and just wanted to drop you a note to let you know what fantastic job she did!
We would gladly work with her again and are happily referring our friends to her if they are in a need of a broker.”

“I worked with Jonathon Curley last Spring for my new home purchase- which can be an extremely scary process in Boston- the starting prices along are enough to startle anyone if you aren’t a local from the area.First, Jonathon had me come into his office and he did a full interview to get to know me, what I was looking for and most importantly how much I thought I could afford. After a 2 hour consultation- he showed me that with his special financing relationships he could actually get me a better rate than I thought I could and could afford more hope in a better area- which in turn would increase in value year over year more quickly than other locations. At no time did I feel pressured to do anything that made me uncomfortable- but Jonathon also set out the realities of the Boston real estate market (something like an episode of the Red Wedding in Game of Thrones when it comes to making offers- total bloodbath).
We looked for almost a month- going to various open houses and work days too- because if you end up on a Saturday showing- you may be just showing up too late to the party; which is why I admired Jonathon working around the clock to get me into properties before the showings were announced- he knows a lot of the city’s agents so having these relationships really helped.
Given that there is just in general very low inventory and it’s a seller’s market in Boston- Jonathon started looking at off-market properties for me, units that had been rentals for a very long time in my desired area. When he first showed me my the property I eventually bought- it was a complete disaster as the current tenants were horribly messy- but he asked me to look past that and took me through the logistics of what I was looking… and the unit did meet every criteria (and I actually had a lot of “must have” items).
Since the unit was a rental, we were in a position to provide a starting offer and was also able to negotiate a bit off the price. With the money I saved I did a major deep cleaning of the whole place and overhaul of the kitchen (tore down a wall to make it on open concept design into the living room) and it looks totally different than when I first purchased the unit… Jonathon even came by AFTER the purchase to see how things were going and gave us advice on how which small improvements would help the home value most.
A year later- the units in my building are selling $60K+ more than what I had purchased mine for and with the improvements I’ve increased my value on top of that. I would tell any buyer in Boston- it’s a scary market- so you really need to have the best agent possible at your side to help, you can trust Jonathon’s advice and future insight. without a doubt– he’s patient, understanding and most importantly- works deals like nobody else!”

“My fiance and I worked with Kim Miles at CGR to buy our first home and had a fantastic experience from start to finish! We started by going to the homebuyers class they hold regularly at their offices. It was extremely valuable and helped to address a number of questions we had and enlighten us to things we didn’t think of. We met a few of the agents during the class but they weren’t pushy at all on working with them or taking the next step.
Kim ended up reaching out a couple of times after the class and again wasn’t pushy at all about getting started but instead provided us with helpful information.
When we were ready to get started Kim ALWAYS available for us via phone and email, always in a timely manner. We called her A LOT and looked at a ton of places. Even when we told her that we were OK to go alone to certain places because we were just checking a place out with no intention of putting down an offer she’d offer to come along to help us better understand the rapidly changing market.
CGR also helped us team up with a great mortgage broker and because they knew each other so well and worked closely together it really made us feel like we had a team behind us that was on the same page.
All in all, we really enjoyed our time working with Charlesgate and especially with Kim who made the entire process less worrisome and a lot of fun!”
