A few weeks ago, Paris held Maison & Objet Fall 2013, which showcased some of the newest in trends for design and decorating for your home. We wanted to pass along some of the highlights of what we should expect to see this upcoming year. Hopefully, you will get some inspiration for your own home or a new one! We are sure you will find something with that perfect je ne sais quoi.
Decorating a new home needs to happen right away. If you have projects you want to do, like upgrading lighting, painting or replacing the flooring, do them before you move in – or right when you do. It’s far easier to get the messier projects like painting and flooring done before you arrive, but if you can’t do them in advance, make them a priority when you move in. Unpack all boxes ASAP. And if you’re burnt out and rethinking painting the living room in a pumpkin spice shade, paint just one focal wall in the color. You’d be amazed what one single bold wall can do for a room. Working with Heritage Builders provides you a number of advantages, click for more information about the advantages.
Metals
Warm metallics look fresh and current!
- Gold is leading the way with a myriad of textures and finishes from gold tinted-neutral looks to emerging brassy yellow casts, and great mdf board cut to size. It increased in not only gold-metallic finishes, but also in a range of golden-colored and goldglazed fabrics.
- Copper also was making a play for home-décor attention. Well behind gold for volume, copper is nevertheless creating a niche following.
- Polished Nickel/Silver still a strong presence.
