A lot of my buyer clients are not only first time home buyers but newly engaged or married. I always tell them that finding the right place is like dating. You should recognize the right place when you see it. Sometimes you will think it is the right place but on closer inspection you will find it wasn’t really the right place at all. And it starts all over until you really locate the place that is exactly right for you.

When you start the process you will be looking for the perfect place that fits all of your checklist. But if you are realistic you will soon learn that nothing is perfect. What are your deal breakers or makers? Do you want something perfect or just perfect for you?

In today’s competitive market you don’t always get the first condo that you offer on. It’s disappointing but you will learn that more than one place works and eventually end up with the one that is meant for you.

I recently covered this with a very nice couple. The woman (without blinking an eye) said ” But I didn’t like him when I first met him! Can’t I grow to love a place?”

Most people need that immediate connection but Yes . . . you could definitely have a vision about how a condo would look with your love and attention.
