In celebration of Boston Sports Club's 39th Anniversary, they will be having a free open houseboston sports on Wednesday, September 25th. The open house will allow non members to use their facilities all day in honor of their birthday!

Komen Race For The Cure

race for the cureSign up now for the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure! The race is on Sunday, September 29th in South Boston. Registration is now open to those who would like to participate. As many as 5,000 people are expected to gather in Joe Moakley Park to support the fight against cancer. 

So far, there has been over $85,000 donated towards Sunday's Race For The Cure. 

"Susan G. Komen Massachusetts is once again sponsoring the 5K race which takes runners, walkers and participants on a route where each step raises money to support the fight against breast cancer.

Race participants look for pledges from family, friends, co-workers, customers and more. Over the next 25 years, an estimated 5 million Americans will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and more than 1 million could die."

Mission Gratitude Benefit Concert

The Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program will be hosting the Mission Gratitude Benefit Concert on Monday, September 23rd at 6:00pm. The performance will be held at Boston Symphony Hall.

The proceeds of the concert will fund healing Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and families. Prior to the concert, guests can enjoy beverages and snacks, meet Red Sox players and honored military members and join in social media activities. 

Entertainment for the Mission Gratitude Benefit Concert include performances by The Band Perry, Sarah Silverman, Rita Wilson, Cassadee Pope and Angie Johnson.

The beard can be real or fake. Each beard will be good for one discounted ticket for the 7:10pm Red Sox vs. Orioles game on September 18th.

Life is good Festival

The Life is good Festival will be at Prowse Farm in Canton on September 21st & 22nd! Thislife is good two day festival will feature music, food, vendors and games!

This year’s three-stage festival will include performances from Daryl Hall & John Oates, The Roots, Jack Johnson, and Delta Rae. There will even be a children's area that will have performances from Yo Gabba Gabba!, Recess Monkey and Josh & the Jamtones! 

"In addition to the musical performances, the festival will also offer a wide array of games and activities as well as diverse local food, hands-on art projects, and a variety show featuring Rob Surette’s Amazing Hero Art, a BMX stunt show, and a performance by juggler and comedian Peter Panic. There will also be a special 'Chillville' area set aside for families, complete with 'comfy seating, blankets for relaxation, a mellow vibe, and easy-going activities' such as kids’ yoga, storytelling, magic tricks, and a nature show presented by the Trailside Museum.

4th Annual Somerville Dog Festival!

The Somerville Foundation for Animals will be having their 4th Annual Somerville Dog Festival on Sunday, September 15th from 10:00am-3:00pm.

The festival will be held at Trum Field on Broadway.  Food for the event will be provided by RedBones BBQ.  This is a free event and donations are greatly appreciated.

"The fundraiser to benefit local animal-related charities will feature a variety of exciting dog sports demonstrations and multiple 'try it' rings in which the public can try sports and games with their dogs."
