Cynthia Packard will be at the Chase Young Gallery in the South End until January 31st. Cynthia Packard's artwork are mostly oil and charcoal impressionist and landscaped based and include "Amenity", "Discovery" and "Yellow Roses". 

"Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and raised in Princeton, New Jersey, Packard came to Provincetown in 1980 after graduating with an honors degree in sculpture from Mass College of Art.  Upon her return she studied with the late Fritz Bultman, began to paint and found herself addicted to color, brushwork and the human form.  Her sculptor's and the interplay between her figures and the spaces that surround them.  A gifted colorist, she paints exceptional figures, children and still life's. Recently her work has exploded reaching new levels.  By applying tar, wax , shellac and plaster, she is creating a dramatic surface with the subject matter becoming more abstract."

Tavern Road is one of the new upcoming restaurants in the Seaport District. Nestled near Drink and Row 34, Tavern Road offers dishes such as lamb osso buc and hand cut tagliatelle, and now, will be partaking in Studio Sundays for guests and local artists. 

"Canvas is to artist as plate is to chef. That's how Tavern Road chef Louis DiBiccari sees it, so pairing culinary arts with fine arts was a natural, especially in the ultra-artsy Fort Point neighborhood."

"On the fourth Sunday of each month Tavern Road Street Foods (Tavern Road’s fast-casual lunch spot) will magically turn 'into a high-energy gallery showcasing work from a local artist.'"

Featured artists will include Patt Kelley, Natasha Moustache and Bill Phaneuf. Tavern Road Studio Sundays will start on January 26th at 4:00pm. 

This year's festivities will include the Honorable Thomas M. Menino as CityFeast’s honoree, "celebrating his passion and commitment to supporting the event, which brings Boston’s health and wellness initiatives to promote diabetes awareness to the forefront."

This years participating restaurants will include Lucca, Temazcal and The Gallows. Tickets will include a five course meal with pairings.

The proceeds will be benefiting the Joslin Diabetes Center, a leader in diabetes care, research and education.

On Tuesday, January 21st, join East Boston Main Streets for the 'The Taste of Eastie' at the Hilton at the Logan Airport.

The 'Taste of Eastie' will be "an evening of great fun and great food highlighting the best of Eastie's local food establishments." 

The event will have samplings from nearly 30 East Boston restaurants with an array of culinary backgrounds, including Italian, Latin American and Asian.

Tickets are only $35 and will include samplings, live entertainment, auctions, raffles and more!

From January 17th-20th, Arisia will be in Boston. The sci-fi and fantasy convention will have special guests, a masquerade ball, art shows, films,games and more!

Like most sci-fi and fantasy cons, one of the highlights of this event will be the masquerade ball. The masquerade is a "costume contest and display of creativity by convention members." Such customers will include bug eyed monsters, fairies, dragons and movie and TV characters.

The theme of this years Arisia's event will be "cross culturalism" which will be featured in the art work, films, seminars, and (hopefully) costumes.

Jim Gaffigan is in Boston for his 'White Bread' tour until January 18th at the Wilbur Theatre.

The ICA in Boston will be screening the best of the 2013 Ottawa International Animation Festival on Saturday, January 18th and Sunday, January 19th. 

"An 85-minute program shown in Beta SP features selections from Japan, Germany, Switzerland, France, Canada, Norway, and elsewhere. Titles include 'Plug & Play,' 'Wind,' 'Bless You,' 'Lonely Bones,' and 'But Milk Is Important.'

Founded in 1976, the Ottawa International Animation Festival, held each fall, is North America’s largest celebration of animation in all forms. This traveling program includes highlights from the 2013 festival and displays the wide array of styles and subjects being explored by animators from around the world. The 85 minute program is shown in Beta SP, and contains material not suitable for children."
