#1: Watch a local movie at the Boston Public Library

made in massachusetts filmsThe Boston Public Library is running a year long "Made in Massachusetts" film series that highlights locally made movies each Monday night.  Since it supposed to be a rainy night, what better way to spend it than with a few friends checking out a free movie at the Library (700 Boylston Street in Copley Square).

Each month of the series has a new theme, and April's is "Crime and Courtroom", so it's fitting they end the month with a screening of Gone Baby Gone, a gritty noirish story of a kidnapping and its aftermath.

Written by local author Dennis Lehane, and directed by Ben Affleck, it was filmed extensively in Boston and the surrounding communities so you're bound to see plenty of Boston landmarks on screen.  Plus it's a great movie to boot!

The movie is being shown tonight at 6pm at the Boston Public Library's Rabb Lecture Hall.  For more info, check out Boston Public Library Made in Massachusetts Film Series.

If you check it out tonight, let us know what you thought!
