Whole Foods Boston Beer & Wine Paint Night

Learn how to paint a masterpiece at the first ever Whole Foods Boston Beer & Wine Paint Night. Enjoy beer, wine and light appetizers while painting with their own in-store artists.Tickets are only $20 and all of the proceeds go to the Whole Planet Foundation - an awesome non-profit organization dedicated to poverty alleviation through microcredit in communities around the world that supply Whole Foods Market stores with products.

This event will take this Saturday, February 28th at 7pm in their Cafe.

Stargaze at BU's Coit Observatory

Get a chance to see the night sky up close and personal at the Coit Observatory. Each (weather-permitting) Wednesday, Boston University hosts a Public Open Night, giving you have access to their telescopes to stargaze, check out planets, and see the moon. Staff members are there to offer you educational tidbits and provide any help you need.  These events are fun,free, and educational so this is a great idea for kids or out of town guests. 

 

Be sure to check their twitter feed the day-of, to make sure the event isn't canceled due to weather.

Afternoon Tea at the Boston Public Library

Sure, we all know about the Boston Public Library, but did you know there's an afternoon tea party held there three days each week? For just $32 per person,enjoy tea sandwiches (think Lobster Salad with Marcona Almond on Pate a Choux and Deviled Chicken & Espelette Pepper), scones and other sweets while sipping teas ranging from Earl Grey to Matcha to White Wedding Tea. 

Here's a sample of their tea menu:

Organic Darjeeling
A second-flush Darjeeling from the Seeyok Garden for Darjeeling fans who prefer an organic version.
Matcha
This powdered tea has been the pride of Uji for several centuries. A real eye opener!
Dragon Pearl Jasmine
Beautiful hand-rolled pearls from Fuan, China gently infused with floral essences from Jasmine flowers. 

Afternoon tea is served every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 2pm-4pm.

Drawing in the Galleries at the MFA

Tap in to your artistic side at Drawing in the Galleries at the MFA. Held each Wednesday evening until August 26th, the MFA hosts an event (with limited drawing materials supplied) where you're able to sketch live models or objects in their collections. "A drawing instructor provides insights on drawing technique and the artist-model relationship as it informs the creation of artwork". These events are free with admission. Best part - admission to the MFA is free on Wednesdays after 4pm, so these events are very budget friendly. 

The next Drawing in the Galleries session is on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 6:00pm-9:00pm

 

The location changes each session, so be sure to check in at the Sharf Visitor Center.

The Patriots wrapped up the football season with an exciting Superbowl win, so now it's time to focus on hockey and basketball.  Emerge yourself in the Boston sports scene and head over to TD Garden to catch a Bruins or Celtics game.
