North End Neighborhood Tour

Posted by Susie Callahan on Sat, Mar 28, 2015

Check out Boston Foodie Tours North End Neighborhood Tour this Sunday, March 29 at 2pm. Boston Foodie Tours mixes the old and new while focusing on "award-winning eats" You'll get to taste chowder, pizza (Boston's best), chocolate, pastas, and more during this tour.

Here's their agenda:

"First stop? Chowder at the country's longest-running restaurant. (Okay, technically, not in the North End, but we don't think that you'll mind.) Next up? Boston's best pizza! But only the ORIGINAL will do. And how 'bout a little chocolate? This two-year-old shop is a charmer! And just down the street, we'll visit a bakery whose signature cupcake appeared in the first issue of Food Network Magazine. Don't blink, or you'll miss our next stops. They're two hidden gems, and, when we say *hidden*, we mean *hidden*. One of them has won Best of Boston Bread Bakery the last two years, *and* was recently featured in Bon Appetit magazine. Freshly-made pastas, daily-made mozzarella, and oils and vinegars all await us before our final stop: a pasta course at one of the North End's most popular restaurants. And how could we end our tour without offering you dolce for the road? Our Italian grandmothers wouldn't hear of it!"

Check out Bodega

Posted by Susie Callahan on Tue, Mar 24, 2015

From the outside, you'll see a less than impressive convienience store, but what's on the inside will blow you away. "Bodega, one of the coolest sneaker stores in the Northeastern United States. Situated on a quiet residential block in Boston, the unassuming storefront looks like a classic, fully-functional New York City—you got it—bodega. But walk to the back, trigger a tile in the floor, and watch as the Snapple machine slides away to reveal a sleek dark-wooded retail space, chock full of some of the most sought-after footwear, designer streetwear, and sportswear around." Did you know 80% of Americans can’t name a single autoimmune disease, even though they likely know many people who suffer from them?

"Due to this lack of awareness, research for autoimmune diseases is light years behind where it should be. We must begin paying attention to these crippling diseases. We must find treatments. We must find a cure."
