Thanksgiving In The City

thanksgivingFor those of you who can't go home or maybe don't want to spend hours in the kitchen, many restaurants are offering Thanksgiving brunch & dinner options. There are a variety of options in the Boston area this year so you can pick a restaurants that suites you & and your wallet. 

Here are a list of some suggestions, thanks to BostonMagazine.com

Take your pick from Strega staples such as Cozze alla Marinara (sautéed mussels in a spicy tomato sauce), Rollatini di Nico (rolled Sicilian eggplant with fresh ricotta, spinach and mozzarella), and Costara Ripiena (veal chop stuffed with prosciutto andfontina cheese in a white winedemi-glaze sauce).

Russell House Tavern, Cambridge
Celebrate friends and family in the heart of Harvard Square with chef Tom Borgia’s special three-course menu at Russell House Tavern. First course has options like duck breast carpaccio, fried oyster toast, and butternut squash bisque. Mains include cider braised short ribs, grilled salmon with house-cured guanciale, and turkey basted in bacon fat. And for dessert, pecan pie with bourbon caramel ice cream and so much more.

Aura Restaurant, Seaport District
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aura will celebrate Thanksgiving with an elaborate buffet brunch. The spread will include breakfast items like eggs benedict, French toast, and a leek and truffle quiche. Chef Robert Tobin will also have a raw bar with clams, oysters, and shrimp. More traditional Thanksgiving offerings will also be on display like roast turkey with cranberry sauce, butternut squash ravioli with brown butter sauce, sweet potato casserole, roasted brussels sprouts, and buttermilk mashed potatoes.

BUST Magazine’s Holiday Craftacular

Luckily, for one day only, Boston will get a chance to enjoy the craze and some great indie crafts!

On Saturday, November 22nd, the BUST Magazine's Holiday Craftacular will be in Boston at the South End Cyclorama. There will be over 120 vendors and tickets are only $3! 

"Indulge in a hot beverage while hanging with some cats, and maybe even consider adopting one. There will be cats from local non-profit Broken Tail Rescue, as well as a team from the organization on-site to answer questions, provide information, and accept donations."

Hearth Shares is based on an incredibly successful and innovative fundraising program in the United Kingdom called StreetSmart.

It began in London in 1998 and has raised over $10,000,000 for local homeless programs. Chefs such as Fergus Henderson, Gordon Ramsay, Angela Hartnett, and Ashley Palmer-Watts are advocates, and StreetSmart now boasts over 500 participating restaurants."

Participating Boston restaurants include Aquataine, The Beehive, Gaslight and Union Bar & Grill!
