Animals Without Passports: "Animals Without Passports is a small exhibit that examines this annual journey from the Atlantic Ocean to warmer tropical waters. You’ll learn about the hazards that humpbacks face as they cross ocean borders, explore issues impacting the marine ecosystem, and consider our own role in protecting these amazing animals."

Maya: Hidden Worlds Revealed: "Maya: Hidden Worlds Revealed, the largest exhibition of its kind in the United States, invites you to uncover the rise and eventual decline of this majestic civilization — including its social, natural, and spiritual realms — through never-before-seen artifacts, hands-on activities, multimedia components, and re-created environments."

Butterfly Garden: "Walk among the free-flying residents of this warm conservatory filled with exotic plants. Overlooking the Charles River, this tropical oasis offers a wonderful opportunity to get close to a variety of living butterflies from New England and across the globe."

Sips and Sweets for the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge

On January 6th from 5:30PM to 9:30PM, indulge in 'Sips & Sweets for the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge'!

"This classy, affordable, after work event combines some of our favorite things: wine, dessert and raising money for an incredible cause.
100% of net profits go to the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Cancer Research at Dana-Farber."

There are sweets and sweets & pairing tickets available. Ticket prices vary depending on which option chosen.

The Dinner Dective Show has a location in Somerville, near Sullivan Square. This fun and interactive expierence is normally held on Saturdays. Make sure you get your tickets in advance because the show has had numerous sold out performances! 

The Dinner Dective is "America’s largest interactive murder mystery comedy dinner show." Guests solve a murder case while enjoying a four-course dinner. And beware, everyone is a suspect!

Boston Pops Home Alone Concert

Skate with Some Holiday Favorites @ The Waterfront

wharfWinter on the Waterfront, a collaboration of 100 businesses and culture organizations, are showcase tons of events that friends and families can enjoy during the winter months in and around Boston.

The Boston Harbor Hotel will have a few events for those kids who have been extra good this year. Along with 'Skate with Santa', the hotel will also be hosting a skate with 'Disney on Ice'!

The 'Skate with Santa' event will be held on Saturday, December 20th from 2pm-5pm. 

The 'Disney on Ice' Winter Mixer is on Monday, December 22nd and starts at 5pm.

Love art that is unique and funky? Well if you're in the Somerville area, the Nave Gallery might have what you're looking for. 

"Since 2004 the Nave Gallery in Teele Square has been the public face of ARTSomerville, a nonprofit, loosely knit volunteergroup of artists and arts enthusiasts with the mutual goal to create new space(s) to present art in Somerville."

In 2013 The Nave Gallery expanded with an additional exhibit, the Nave Annex in Davis Square. The Nave Gallery also hosts music, dance and art events at various locations in the city throughout the year."

Strange Behavior Stand-Up @ Davis Square Theatre

strange_2The historic Davis Square Theatre is ready to make you laugh with 'Strange Behavior' Stand Up! The 'Strange Behavior' Stand Up Event will be held once a month in Somerville.  

"One night a month, this intimate 175-seat theater will feature national headliners along with some of Boston’s best."

The next performance will be held on Thursday, December 18th at 8pm. This month's show includes Emma Willmann from the New York Comedy Festival, Anthony P. DeVito from Montreal Just For Laughs and Sean Donnelly who has performed on David Letterman and Comedy Central.

Hanukkah: The Festival of Lights at the MFA

"Learn about the MFA's collection of Judaica, sketch in the galleries, make a work of art to bring home, and listen to festive music in the Shapiro Family Courtyard.

Don't miss the Oculus Rift virtual reality art installation in the Druker Family Pavilion windows, a preview of 8 Nights, 8 Windows -- a 2015 project of New Center NOW and CJP bringing the miracle, illumination, and innovation of Hanukkah to Boston."

The event is free and scheduled from 6:00pm-9:45pm. The MFA is located near Kenmore Square and accessible by public transportation.
