US Figure Skating Championship in Boston

skateThe 2014 Prudential US Figure Skating Championship will be in Boston from January 5th-12th.

"Hosted by the Skating Club of Boston, this event will bring some of the best ice skaters in the country together in the last qualifying competition before the selection of the 2014 US. Olympic Figure Skating Team, which will compete on Team USA in Sochi, Russia, this coming February."

The Greater Boston Food Bank is teaming up with some of the greatest Boston restaurants for the Super Hunger BrunchEvery $1 spent on brunch provides three meals to a person in need. The Super Hunger Brunch will be held January 25th and 26th. 

There are three ticket options available. Ticket prices vary. Participating restaraunts include L’Espalier, Grill 23 & Bar and Rialto

First Night Boston 2014

First Night BostonOn behalf of Charlesgate Realty Group, LLC, we would like to wish everyone a happy & healthy new year!

If you are planning to head into the city for First Night, please be aware that the MBTA will have free service after 8pm and will be running until 2am. Parking restrictions will be in place so public transportation is highly recommended. The First Night button is $10.00 and are available at various convenient stores in the area.

Drum Central with Grooversity and IntAfrika

Groove to the beat of Afro-Brazilian drumming put together by Grooversity and IntAfrika. Created by Brazilian percussionist Marcus Santos, the Grooversity entertainment group not only educates, but also engages others to be a part of social change. 1:45-2:15 p.m. Hynes Convention Center Ballroom.

Handel and Haydn Society

The Young Women’s Chorus (grades 9-12) and the Young Men’s Chorus (grades 8-12) will perform separately. Both Choruses will perform together during the last performance with pieces by George Frideric Handel and Lowell Mason. 1-1:45 p.m. Hynes Convention Center Ballroom.

Face Painting

Get your face painted and become anything! The possibilities are endless.1-6 p.m. Hynes Convention Center Hall A.

Taste of Chocolate Festival

The Taste of Chocolate Festival will be coming to Harvard Square in Cambridge! The weekend event will be held from Friday, January 24th- Sunday, January 26th!

Harvard Square's restaurants will feature chocolate appetizers, entrees, desserts, cocktails, cordials and nightcaps while Harvard Square retailers will dazzle you with scrumptious chocolate specials and deals."

There are various events at different locations including a chocolate treasure hunt and a art of chocolate tasting. Although you do not need a ticket to participate, some events may require a reservation. Pricing for the events vary.

Amy SillmanVisit the Amy Sillman Exhibit at the ICA while it's still here! The Amy Sillman: one lump or two exhibit will be displayed until Sunday, January 5th, 2014.

"Amy Sillman: one lump or two—the artist’s first museum survey—follows her development as an artist from the mid-1990s to the present, as her work moved from drawing to painting to moving images, and from figuration to abstraction. Featured are more than 90 works, including drawings, paintings, ‘zines (which she calls 'a chance to present one’s own epiphanies'), and the artist’s recent forays into animated film."

First Night Boston

First Night BostonFirst Night Boston is a great way to spend time with family and friends in the city. The events start at 10:00am and end with the State Street Corporation Midnight Fireworks at 12:00am. 

All First Night outdoor events are free, and admission to indoor events requires the purchase of a First Night button. The button is $10.00 and is available at convenient stores throughout the city. 

"Boston's city-wide First Night party includes hundreds of different indoor and outdoor locations, performances, and a thousand musical, dance, theater and other artistic performers. 

First Night is a day long festival celebrating art and community in Boston. Perfect for families of any age."

Some of the events and city sites will include performances from Patti Smith and Her Band, ice sculptures, kid friendly entertainment and Boston Common Interactive Art.

New Years Eve Concert with the Boston Pops Swing Orchestra
